Running for Hakim

8 HIMs gathered in the chilly morning to get after it. My Department is doing a Miles of Remembrance for our fallen police officers. I lost two friends in the line of duty and today I dedicated the Q to Hakim Farthing.

After a warm up to include Loveseat’s favorite stretch, the finkle kick we broke up into self designated paces on a quarter mile leg and ran for about 25 minutes. We constantly passed eachother and cheered one another one.

At the end we stretched on the most horrible pavement ever and closed shop. Altogether we put in 23.5 miles!

Hakims funeral was sad, especially for his son Eric, who was 3 at the time. He is now a grown man with a college degree making the most of life.
